Rising up – Flowing down was a group exhibition on circular flow in the Historic Water Tower in Vienna in May 2018. The functional shape of the historic architecture was set in analogy to the spiral growth of plants and the circular flow of water or mental processes of consciousness like remembering or dreaming. The exhibition was designed by Regina Hügli, the curating and implementation shared with Austrian artist Anne Glassner.
Contributions of 18 international artists were on display in three floors and the spiraling ramp of the tower. During three days there was a programme of framing events taking place, involving speeches of biologist Prof Ernst Zürcher (Fachhochschule Bern), psychologist Dr. Brigitte Holzinger (Institut der Bewusstseins- und Traumforschung Wien), concerts and performances.
