The Fluid Interdisciplinarities Festival brought together researchers, artists, and practitioners to highlight water-related research and practices. The event was organized by the research institute IRI THESys of Humboldt University of Berlin in collaboration with ONE BODY OF WATER.
“Fluid Interdisciplinarities” was a three-day festival and symposium in Berlin that brought together scientists, artists, and practitioners working with bodies of water, especially rivers. The Spree, Panke, Nile, Mekong, Brahmaputra, Magdalena, Dnipro, Auzon, and Lez (among others) were brought to life through a diverse program of academic sessions, artistic interventions, and public events, fostering knowledge exchange between science, art, and society.
The guiding questions of the symposium addressed the synergies and challenges of interdisciplinarity in the implementation of research projects, as well as the relationship between human and more-than-human actors that shape water-related research.
ONE BODY OF WATER was part of the organizing team and contributed to the development of the festival program and design.
The Fluid Interdisciplinarities Festival was organized by the Integrative Research Institute for Transformations of Human–Environment Systems (IRI THESys), Humboldt University of Berlin, in close collaboration with ONE BODY OF WATER. Partner institutions included the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the University of Montpellier, the Knowledge Exchange with Society Team, and TA T – Tieranatomisches Theater at the Centre for Cultural Techniques (ZfK).
